Chez Sleh is a sure bet for the Tunisian Restaurant. Over time, the establishment remains unchanged and so much the better! Amel DJAIT
Here, we find the same cuisine, decoration and simplicity. The seafood is always fresh, the house harrisa and the olives as exceptional. Even, the fresh fennel cut in quarter and seasoned with a filet of lemon juice has not disappeared from plates of “kemia”!
At Sleh, neither the crisis nor the change of the clientele have any grip. We find the same atmosphere and the usual clientele. Between noon and two o’clock, the restaurant is filled with a few executives from neighboring administrations in tie-suits. The faces are often familiar, especially those of the waiters who have taken some wrinkles but welcome with the same relaxation and professionalism.
In the kitchen, the specialties are golden squid, grilled cuttlefish, salmon or grilled octopus, sautéed shrimp, fried reddish … The reign of Chez Sleh is fish. Then, in flat resistance, do not hesitate to choose a real good fish. Ask for advice on the season of the fish (and yes, there are) especially sea breams and wild wolves especially! The tray of the day often offers monkfish, st Pierre, greenhouses, soles … In accompanying the main course, the restaurant offers its famous “tastira”, finely chopped fries, fried peppers … Here, one eats his complete Fish according to the rules of the art.
On the dessert side, Chez Sleh is still limited! Nothing has changed too and it’s a shame! Even worse, the famous big pot of fresh cream that was put on the tables of the regulars of the restaurant disappeared. This little more “funny” made fall into childhood many men and women …. We liked to dip in fresh strawberries, banana and even a spoon or two in one’s coffee. Pity !
