Ramadhan 2017 could not end without making a stop, necessarily greedy, by Le Comptoir who receives for Season III the chef Mme Nebila Bey. If the promise is that of a beylical menu, the final result is especially that of a Ramadan quality menu. Special mention to the neat service and commitment of the theater team. Le Comptoir offers during the month of Ramadan a traditional cuisine that mixes the flavors of yesteryear traditional Tunisian recipes to the tastes and presentations more current. The bet is to do as at home, with in addition, a neat service, a delicate and modern setting all white porcelain fine. The pace of service is nice and well studied.

Here, we take the gamble to please customers especially taking into account his habits. For him, the little touches are multiplying: lemonade with fresh mint, bssisa, small bowls of dates stuffed with nuts, cured meats, variety of breads, traditional harissa …

The menu is 70DT per person. It includes of course a soup (2choix), a brick, several entries (4), a main course (2 choices) and a bonus (tasting of madfouna that day). And as a good meal of Ramadhan can not end without a coffee or tea, a pastry (cake or bouza), the staff invites you to leave the restaurant room for the Lounge to allow you to relax on a sofa!

The menu of the day was a “chorba zzara bel ghalmi”, “bricka” with minced meat, a menthol cucumber salad, cuttlefish and shrimp shrimp, a “méchouia” salad and a rice salad. In the main course, Le Comptoir proposed “Nouasser” with lamb or a “Kabkabou” of grouper. Special mention to fish, freshness and flavors. The brig (leaf and stuffing) was succulent and hot. The farandole of salads was nicely presented, tasty and so generous that when the time of the main course arrived, it became difficult to find room for it.

In summary, Le Comptoir promises to give its customers a good time. And it holds its promise. The portions are generous, the service neat and the team in the room perfectly honed.

Towards the end of the meal, Mrs. Nebiha Bey, chef at the stove for the occasion, goes out to inquire about the experience of her clients. All smiles, she listens to suggestions, remarks. Her cooking is as generous as her smile.

With this proposal, Le Comptoir respects its customers, the seasons, the products, its notoriety and the traditions … If it worked a little more the beylical staging of the offer as it announces, Le Comptoir could get stronger. Because beyond giving a good time to its customers, this establishment is one of the few who can claim to tell stories to its customers. True, authentic and precious stories … Stories (like the Beys) as we would like to discover especially during Ramadan.
