By this time fondouks are built in Houmt souk, but it is mainly between the XVI and XIX century that were built 18 fondouks that still exist now.
So now a charming accommodation, Arischa hotel is near the beautiful little Catholic church on the island founded in the nineteenth century by Maltese fishermen. An ideal location for exploring the city of Houmt Souk and more broadly the island of Djerba.

Square, the building’s entire life unfolds in the heart of its open courtyard where the rooms of the hotel, located upstairs. The place is really lovely, the rooms are not particularly fancy but they are very clean and nicely decorated. They include a bathroom and toilet. Between The Moroccan Riadh and the hacienda, one has the feeling that here the time has stopped. The hotel’s courtyard features a small swimming pool and a shady restaurant “Le Patio”, where it is possible to lunch, dinner or simply relax with a drink. Many used to it from elsewhere during the scorching summers Jerban to consume a beer in the shade of lush patio.

Pricewise, they are reasonable since it counts 28DT / person low season for housing and 38 dt breakfast in high season. The hotel also offers half board (40DT and 46dt per person in low and high season) and a full pension to 46 and 56 dt / person in low and high season.
A quite charming hotel  to know, who is sincere and who will delight lovers of tranquility, history and authentic discovery.
