Beit El Houta is officially a guest house located in Kelibia. On site, we discover that it is a trip. A hymn to nature where everything is driftwood, gardens, pools of water, memories, reconversion of objects, second life … by Amel DJAIT
In Beit El Houta, everyone is almost kissing. The children of the owners’ friends have grown up in this house and feel at home. It is not unusual to see them offer customers, surprised and seduced, fresh sea urchins, a cool drink, a pleasant company ….
Beit el houta is mostly “el beit” (literally the house) holiday as we like it; A house filled with laughter and joy. Absolutely not perfect. Especially not perfect!
A house absolutely not set like music paper and that does not look like a glossy commercial. Here, only the moment counts. And it is often magical when fishermen catch some “houttas” (fish). It is often magical when the evening everyone is around generous grills. It’s often magical when you get to the point, connect with nature and yourself!
Nejib Ridène is also officially the master of the place. But his daily effort is not to be and to appear. Surrounded by his animals, in his jersey, long hair, wrist bracelets and a smile on his face, he lives between his memories, from the time he was GO in his youth at Club Med, to his youth hut that was just much enlarged.
This house, Nejib built it with his hands. The garden, he plants and replant every day, creating spaces for living and relaxation. He plays with wind and salt to protect his palm trees and other ornamental plants and spends an hour in front of a watermelon that has grown spontaneously to the edge of the driveway and wants to climb on a railing.
Beit El Houta, there are 9 rooms that are available to lovers of Kelibia and where the promise is especially and above all that of a rapprochement with the elements and love. As you probably have not understood, love and its pleasures is a philosophy of life. But that can only be grasped at night, with the stars, the song of the waves, the rattling of the shells hanging from the trees …
