gourmandise
Goumandises is a house founded in 1976. In three decades, it has risen to the top of the high-end pastries in Tunisia. In La Marsa, Gourmandise has opened a new sign that a new conceptual trend of the house and consolidates a new era for the company.

In a completely white space, with uncluttered and contemporary decor, the house offers a dozen seats in the lounge and a lovely terrace with a few tables and chairs on the most prestigious and vibrant boulevard of La Marsa. No frills, no ostentatious luxury, the store is separated from the guest lounge area with a lovely trellis. We only ask if the light on at 10am is required!

Upon arrival at the institution, the prestige of the house is not palpable by the care given to detail: no host server and the hostess did not have time for us. Slightly overwhelmed, it is however courteous. Not very comfortable with the composition of its menus and smiling, he hands me a nice card that offers several options including the Classic Detox and proposed respectively 29Dt and 10DT.

A pastry basket was immediately put on the table. Croissants and chocolate croissants are excellent, worthy of the brand’s reputation: puff pure quality butter, crispy, light, airy …

As for the juice, it is a little complicated! Detox in the menu, the proposed juice is made of spinach, parsley and basil. The result is absolutely not pasty nor is it appetizing! As for Citrus juice( lemonade), it is hard to swallow as it is appetizing in the visual or pleasing to the palate and aftertaste of chemical remains uncomfortably in the mouth. One wonders then why not offer seasonal juices such as melon or watermelon. That would have done it!

That said, both the classic menu is nice and does not pose a particular problem, as the Detox is reviewing.

The latter consists of a hot drink, a salad or crispy or crunchy, poorly seasoned and two mini delicious but too cold sandwiches! Should we just get them out a bit before serving! The height of Detox menu presentation is certainly nice but not practical. Too large portions of honey, cheese and “chamiya” are served in small ramekins in which you can not use without putting everywhere. The quality of “chamiya” and cheese are really goodbye! Where is the promise of delicatessen and quality if it is to find a product hardly worthy of an anonymous local grocery store?

After this stroll, it is indisputable that we spend a great time at Gourmandise La Marsa. This conceptual development franchise is a success? This place is it to live up to the reputation of the house? I am tempted to say not quite! Just a big yes to the idea, not enough to achieve!

Special mention to the house that displays its laudable support Lions Club against violence against women.

Gluttony is one of the mainstays of this sector in Tunisia. Diversify, expand, innovate, it is! Maintain and steadily improve to serve and satisfy its customers, is better!
