Traveltodo organizes the first “Travel d’Or”. Beyond the event that will certainly give a little dynamism and colors to a sector hit with acute sinistrosis, this great event could at least give back the taste of tourism to its own operators. By Amel DJAIT
On 28 April 2017, Traveltodo is organizing a major tourism technology event entitled TOTEC MEA (Tourism, Technology Conference for Africa and the Middle East). This day will include a series of panel discussions and conferences on the themes of tourism and current and future technologies with the participation of several experts and actors from both domestic and international tourism and digital sectors.
The objective of this event is to make Tunisia a hub for digital tourism and connected with a certain influence on Africa and the Middle East according to the General Manager of Traveltodo. Three years ago, Traveltodo initiated the first “e-tourism Day” to introduce tourism operators who have made digital their spearhead support.
Traveltodo is back this time for another initiative with the organization of “Travel d’Or 2017. It is therefore during a ceremony that will be rewarded the Tunisian tourism operators and the people having distinguished themselves in the Digital tourism. For Tarek Lassadi, “the objective through this operation is to encourage and showcase the work of all those who have deployed in a relevant way on the Internet to promote their offers and products.We organize this event With our French partner, Mr. Frédéric Vanhoutte, originally the Travel d’Or that have existed in France for almost 9 years “.
A dozen prizes will be awarded for the best corporate websites based on public votes, which will be presented to a jury composed of tourism and technology experts who will judge the approach and efforts of each company in terms of Tourism before compiling the data to select 3 nominees in each of the categories that have been set before awarding the “Travel d’Or” to the winner who has won the most votes in its category.
Candidates wishing to participate must register on the form available on the website www.traveldor.tn/formulaire-de-candidature from 6 February to 31 March in the following categories:
– 1 Tunisian hotel chain
– 2 Foreign hotel brand located in Tunisia
– 3 Seaside hotel
– 4 Business / city hotel
– 5 Guest house / Charming hotel / Bed and breakfast
– 6 Gastronomy and catering site
– 7 Airline (Tunisian or foreign operating in Tunisia)
– 8 Car Rental
– 9 Wellness, spa & thalassotherapy, medical or health tourism
– 10 Blogger, Youtubers, Facebook pages or groups
– 11 Tunisian craft products
– 12 Marina and Harbours
The public votes will then be opened to allow to elect the companies considered the most deserving in each category on the site http://jeu.traveldor.tn
The organizing committee also points out that other “Special Golden Travel” will be awarded to individuals or organizations for their involvement in promoting the tourism sector.
