Bollywood Klezmer is an intercultural musical show with a selection of Bollywood film songs fusing Klezmer music of Central Europe and the music played in the royal courts of Rajasthan. Three concerts are planned in Tunis, Kef and Nabeul, 2, 3 and 4 November. An appointment not to be missed!
For the record, it all begins in a theater where a Klezmer show takes place. The Indian star Anwar Hussain is visiting Paris. Lead by music and sounds similar to that of his roots, he decided to join the scene and accompanying musicians. Nicolas (Nicolas Portoi), one of the musicians on stage knows some Bollywood songs. Guided by the melodious voice of Anwar, he began playing a Bollywood song. The Klezmer musicians and Anwar will link several pieces until he receives a call from his mother asking him to go to Jaipur to sing and play at the wedding of the daughter of the Maharaja …

The musical features a selection of Bollywood films fused songs with Jewish Klezmer music of Central Europe and the tunes heard in the royal courts of Rajasthan. The star Begam Batool will perform for the first time before an audience abroad. Indeed, until now it was only possible to listen to the Begam Rajasthan court, where she sang for the closed circle of the last Maharajas and Maharanis.
After playing in Tunisia, Bollywood Klezmer will go to Paris, where he will open the festival Jazz’N’Klezmer – only Klezmer music festival in Europe and then in London, the legendary Liberal Synagogue in St John’s Wood.

Bollywood Klezmer will be held Wednesday, November 2 at dramatic art theater of El Kef, Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the legendary Acropolium of Carthage and Friday, November 4 at drama theater of Nabeul. The musical show starts at 19:00 and ends at about 21:30.
