The pomegranate syrup mainly of Gabes is a pleasant drink to be diluted with water and serve with ice. It is also a choice of sauce for ice cream. If your pomegranates are too soft, add the juice of three lemons or a teaspoon of citric acid.

Ingredients:

  • 2 kg of pomegranates
  • 400 g of powdered sugar or granulated
  • 1  tea-spoon of orange flower water

Preparation:
Wash and dry fruits. Cut the pomegranate in half horizontally. Collect all the juice using a citrus press. You need to get about 500 ml of juice. Strain the juice. Put it in a saucepan with the sugar and slowly bring to boil, stir until sugar dissolves. Boil 10 minutes, then turn off the fire. Skim and add optional water of orange flowers.
